Special Characteristics

Each piece of wood has various characteristics that show up in a multitude of ways.  Moisture, drought, insects, fungus, and unusual growths will cause a variety of characteristics in a piece of wood.  At Haskiell's Hardwood Creations, I strive to pull out the natural beauty in each piece of wood we work with.  This also means that due to these variations, each product is unique and one of a kind.  Please keep this in mind as you pick out the piece you want to add to your home.

Care Instructions

Your wooden item will be freshly oiled prior to shipping. The item should be rinsed with warm water after each use. When the item starts to look dull, clean with a mild soap made for wooden items and warm water.  Allow to dry prior to adding a coating of food grade oil. After a few minutes, wipe excess oil off your item prior to storage.

If your wooden item starts to feel "fuzzy", lightly sand the surface with a high grit sand paper (220 or higher) and then apply a coating of food safe oil.
